I'm Jamie Mapes, a final-year Electronic Music Production student at BIMM University. Alongside producing my own music, I've gained practical experience in studio recording, live sound and broadcasting. I'm keen to build on that experience, develop my skills further and take on more opportunities within the audio industry.
Organised by the areas I work in, rather than by whether an opportunity was paid or part of my studies.
Practical recording sessions, multitrack engineering and audio editing.
Recorded full bands performing simultaneously as part of a two-person engineering team, sharing responsibility for setup, recording and troubleshooting.
Operated the recording workflow for more than half of a lecturer’s vocal session, organising takes and supporting a positive recording atmosphere.
Prepared and managed a vocal recording setup for a fellow musician’s track, collaborating on recording choices and offering feedback.
Front-of-house, monitor mixes, stage setups and live broadcast support.
Prepared stage and sound equipment for two performance nights, managing stage changeovers at the first and the front-of-house mix at the second.
Shared console duties for a college production of Shrek, following dialogue cues, managing labelled wireless microphones and responding to unexpected changes.
Prepared audio and video connections and independently operated the audio desk during a livestream, adapting to playback and presenter-monitoring issues.
Personal initiative, original music and live creative performance.
Planning and developing a dedicated music production studio, combining research, acoustics, budgeting and design.
Selected original productions with artwork and playable audio.
Performed a live DJ set at a private boat event at Number 90 in Hackney.
